Nature-based Therapy
with Cath Lim
Sometimes, it’s not about having answers. It’s about having a space to slow down, to sit with what’s been on your mind, and to begin making sense of it—at your own pace.
What this is: This is a quiet, one-to-one space. You don’t need to prepare anything. You don’t need to know what to say. Through conversation and gentle guidance, we make room for what is already there— and allow things to unfold naturally.
What you might bring:
something that’s been weighing on you
a request to learn about nature
or simply a need to pause and reflect
However you arrive, we begin there.
How we work: There is no fixed structure. Some sessions are more activity-based. Some are more conversational. Some are simply about sitting with what is present. There is no end goal to reach. Only a process of understanding yourself.
You are welcome to move at your own pace.
Depending on how you progress, you can add sessions along the way.

Depression and self-injury
My daughter was going through depression and self-injuriy. Cath’s genuine kindness, her authentic interest, coupled with her beautiful surrounding gave us space to release what we were going through. This is such a welcoming change from the traditional counselling room. Creating a terrarium helps with visualisation too.

Conflicted and self-doubt
Cath is very good at connecting the pieces of information i shared with her. She is a very effective listener with no judgement. I feel very safe sharing with her. I reached out to her the second time because I had such a positive experience with her.
-

Divorce and alienation
Cath helps to shift my perspective. She doesn’t give me the answer although she guides the conversation so I could arrive at a more considered decision. Through her, I learnt to take accountability and understand how resentment can spiral without professional help. Her style is subtle, but effective.

Career Stagnation
Cath’s approach is more structured than it appears on the surface. While it felt like a normal conversation, I was able to see a clear direction to how she guides it. She does not over-emphasise or over-direct. She gave me the courage to come to my own decision I feel proud to own, beyond a temporary emotional relief.

Nature-based therapist & horticulturist
My work is informed by a combination of experience and ongoing training across horticulture, nature-based therapy, and counselling.
About Cath
I didn’t arrive at this work through one path.
Over the years, I’ve been trained across different disciplines—in art, horticulture, nature-based therapy, and counselling. But more than the training itself, it was the experience of working with people that shaped what I do today.
The Plant Story began in 2009, as a way of bringing art and nature together— to create something beautiful, and accessible for urban life. Over time, as I worked with people across different ages and backgrounds, I began to notice something more.
That when given the space, people naturally begin to slow down, reflect, and see things differently. That realisation led me to deepen my training— not to change the work, but to better understand what was already unfolding.
Today, what I offer is not a programme, but a way of working. One that brings together art, nature, and gentle reflection—for those who feel ready to spend time with themselves, in a different way.
